Limited 2-Year Warranty – British Columbia

Effective Date: Date of Substantial Completion
1. Warranty Coverage
Sofo Kitchens Ltd (“the Company”) warrants to the original purchaser that its custom cabinetry and millwork, when installed in a residential property in British Columbia, will be free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use for a period of two (2) years from the date of substantial completion. This limited warranty is non-transferable and provided in accordance with the British Columbia Sale of Goods Act and Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act.
2. Scope of Coverage
This warranty covers:
  • Structural defects in cabinet boxes, doors, drawers
  • Material or workmanship defects resulting in delamination
  • Hardware failure (hinges, slides, soft-close mechanisms) under normal use
  • Door/drawer alignment adjustments within six (6) months of installation
  • Door warping (see Section 3)
3. Door Warping
Doors exceeding 24” in width or 60” in height are excluded from warping coverage. Acceptable warp tolerances:
  • Up to 1/8" warp for doors ≤ 24"x42"
  • Up to 3/16" warp for larger doors
    Warping is covered only if doors are properly stored, fully finished/sealed on all sides, and maintained in a controlled indoor environment (35%–55% relative humidity). Damage caused by improper storage, unfinished surfaces, or environmental extremes is excluded.
4. Exclusions and Limitations
Not covered under this warranty:
  • Surface wear, fading, scratches, or damage from improper cleaning
  • Wood color/grain changes due to natural aging
  • Moisture damage from leaks, steam, or poor ventilation
  • Third-party installation or modification
  • Countertops, appliances, sinks, fixtures, or non-cabinet items
5. Limitations of Liability
The Company’s sole obligation is to repair or replace defective components at its discretion. If identical materials are unavailable, substitutes of similar quality may be used. Labor, shipping, and removal/reinstallation costs are not covered unless approved in writing. The Company is not liable for incidental or consequential damages. No employee or agent is authorized to modify this warranty.
6. Claims Procedure
All claims must be submitted in writing to the contact above within the warranty period and must include: proof of purchase, photos of the issue, and reasonable access for inspection if needed.
7. Governing Law
This warranty is governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and provides rights in addition to any statutory consumer protections.
