• Design optimized to shape of lot, Riparian setbacks, Flood control level, passive solar design to optimize winter heat gain and minimize summer overheating
• Durable fire-smart siding materials – noted by insurance company as most fire safe home he had ever seen
• Integrated to water-front for ease of access, outdoor beach BBQ and recreation
• Large decks for outdoor living on every level

INTERIOR: CREATIVE AND INNOVATIVE USE OF SPACE INCLUDING ARCHITECTURAL DETAIL AND FORM

• Designed as live work-space with his and hers offices
• Kitchen as focal point for family living and entertaining
• Media room dimensions designed for optimum audio performance and hose designed around media dimensions

• Automated blinds to reduce overheating and reduce AC
• Passive solar shading modeled in at concept design stage

 CONSTRUCTION DETAILS/TECHNIQUES TO ACHIEVE INDUSTRY BEST PRACTICES

• All lower exterior and interior walls ICF for sound performance
• Comslab suspended concrete floor on main level for sound proofing between main floor and media room
• Low maintenance exterior siding materials for long term durability including metal facia, stone and phenolic resin siding
• Inset windows for improved waterproofing and energy performance
• Raft slab on piles to ensure no differential settlement to protect finishes
• Warmboard radiant heat sub-floor for optimum heat delivery and control
• Separate HVAC for AC and supplemental heating if required
• Water, sewer and power all had to be brought to site
